Things to Do

Here at the Up North Lodge, we have a wide variety of activites to do both on premise and in the nearby area. Some of our most popular activities include boating, canoe trips through the rivers, playing on the beach, hiking, firework shows, and more! During the colder seasons we also offer ice skating, skiiing, and bonfires. In the nearby town some of the offerings include a movie theater, a shopping mall, and a number of local shops offering various products perfect for gifting!

Listed below are some of our most popular seasonal acitivites as ranked by previous guests at the lodge. We hope that you can use this guide to help choose what time of the year is best for your needs and desires!

At the foot of the lodge we have a private strawberry field for guests to visit and pick fresh strawberries! This is a very popular activity for families and young children.
During Easter, there is a Lodge-wide Easter egg hunt that occurs. Fun for all ages, with the grand prize being a limited edition golden egg!
With spring comes new life - nature enthusiasts will enjoy the birds and fresh foliage that blooms during this time. Viewing platforms are available throughout the trail.

Canoeing and boating on the lake are the most popular summer activities at our lodge. We have boats and rafts of various sizes available for guests to borrow and purchase as necessary!
During the height of summer, we offer barbecues every evening, and ice cream socials on the weekends. Fun for the whole family!
Firework shows occur on a holiday basis, with our largest show on the 4th of July. If you have an event and would like fireworks arranged, reach out ahead of time!

Pumpkin carving and a harvest corn maze are set up during fall for guests to enjoy. Nighttime hay carriage rides are also popular.
During Halloween, there is a collaboration between the Up North lodge and the local town to offer a fun night of thrills and treats for everyone! A costume contest is also held with prizes!
Fall is the peak time for hunting and gathering. Please see the hunting page for more details about regulations and offerings in our area.

The most popular activity in the winter at our lodge is skiing and snowboarding on the nearby mountain range. We offer equipment for rent on premise, or lockers to rent if you prefer to bring your own!
As the lake freezes over, we offer ice skating with carefully sectioned off corners for safety. Skates are available for rent. Ice shows are held once a month!
Every night, the fire pits are lit up for guests to enjoy the winter scenery with the comfort of fire and hot chocolate. Alcohol is also offered at the bar for adult guests!
